The summer of 2010, it's sunny yet breezy with a gentle cool air. This is Cairo in the summer during the day and especially the evenings. The fresh breeze is emanating from the Nile River, which surrounds Cairo. Cairo the city of the minarets and church bell towers side by side. In this picture, Rajaa Aquil the founder and director of CALLAC created this study abroad trip to her students to immerse in the Arabic langague and culture

The photo above is at the entrance of Mosque Mohamed Ali. The two photos on the left are on the Suspended Church in old Cairo.
These photos are evidence that the real voyage of discovery is not only to see new landscapes and landmarks but actually to gain new eyes and perspectives. Rajaa 's students recount that learning Arabic language and culture has been an eye opener. This is what learning a foreign and culture is all about.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE A CUSTOMER LOOKING TO HIRE A PROVIDER IN YOUR AREA OF WORK?
Make sure your tutor is qualified. Just being a native speaker of the language doesn't qualify the person to be a good tutor. Teaching languages requires talent as well as solid education, background and good long experience in teaching. Ask the providers if they have the right qualifications and credentials to teach. If their teaching style is student centered. Ask for concrete examples how they teach through a student-centered approach. If they are qualified to teach online and if they use interactive engaging methods.
